Grants, A Taste of Excellence...

Grants is a much loved, popular restaurant in Omagh, located in Georges Street that I have absolutely adored since I was young. It is the definition of class and is a very popular spot within Omagh. As I walked in, I was greeted with the warmth within the place while also being greeted by a lovely waitress named Vikki. While our table was being prepared, she kindly seated us in the lounge area and presented the drinks menu. After browsing the selection, I chose the house red wine, Tank 32 Primitivo, a rich, velvety red that paired perfectly with my main course. Despite not being a regular red wine drinker, I was pleasantly surprised by its bold yet smooth flavor. The wine elevated the entire experience, adding a touch of elegance to the evening. Following this, we were seated in the front area, and were then presented with our food menus. For starters I had ordered the chicken wings, which were 10/10 and they delivered a mouthwatering burst of flavour in every bite I gen...

Quaywest, Derry

Quaywest, Derry

The other night, I visited Quaywest in Derry, a restaurant that has rightfully earned its reputation as one of Northern Ireland’s top dining destinations!

With gorgeous views of the River Foyle and a vibrant interior, Quaywest sets the perfect tone for an enjoyable evening. I went there to celebrate my two-year anniversary with my boyfriend, and it was the ideal choice for a romantic date night. However, Quaywest isn’t just for couples, it's perfect for a fun evening with friends as well and I'm even considering going here for my 21st! This was evident as there were two hen parties happening while we were there, along with other groups enjoying the lively cocktail menu.

As we walked in we were seated by the bar to wait for our table by a lady. It was about a 5 minute wait and right away we had noticed the sleek interior of the place. I had been here years ago but it was my boyfriends first time and he was very impressed with it all.

To start my meal, I opted for one of my all-time favorites—the brie. It’s my usual go-to when dining out, but I must say, Quaywest took this classic dish to another level. The brie was perfectly melted and creamy, served with a delightful cranberry sauce that complemented it perfectly.

For the main course, I chose the steak, cooked to a perfect medium rare. In my opinion, there’s no better way to enjoy a steak than with that red center, and Quaywest delivered flawlessly. The steak was phenomenal—seared perfectly on the outside while staying juicy and tender on the inside. For my sides, I selected the creamy mashed potatoes and peppered sauce which both perfectly complimented the steak.

What truly stood out about Quaywest was the very quick and great service. Despite the busy atmosphere, the staff were attentive, and our food arrived quickly. This was much appreciated, as we were starving! you know its a good sign when your food arrives quickly, whilst the quality was still 10/10.

Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion, catching up with friends over cocktails, or simply just popping in for a bite to eat, Quaywest offers the perfect atmosphere for any occasion.
